Dani Pedrosa Blog ahead of Le Mans: After another good weekend…

 In Blog, MotoGP, News

After taking his first win of the season at Jerez and heading to the next round at Le Mans this weekend, Dani Pedrosa again shared his thoughts on his Repsol Blog.

Dani CleaningHello,

We`ll soon be back in action. This time in Le Mans in the north of France, and at this time of the year the weather is not usually so good there. Let`s see what`s in store for us this weekend.

Last weekend was a good one for Spanish sport too. It is good news that Rafa Nadal is in form again, and Fernando Alonso put in a great race at Montmeló. And you all know that I am a big fan of cycling, the Giro in Italy has started! This is a race that I am really interested in.

Now I feel curious: Are you cycling fans? It is one of my big weaknesses, I just love bicycles. For those of you who are cycling fans I would like to ask you a question: Which do you like more, the Giro or the Tour de France? I will read your replies and next week I will give you my opinion.

Getting back to the matter in hand, as I said at the beginning the weather will be important because Le Mans is a circuit with some unique features, for example it has some very slow turns, and several corners with heavy braking, as well as some braking before blind turns. If you know how to handle these points well the rest of the circuit does not have too many mysteries, but at this time of the year bad weather changes everything, meaning that it becomes more complicated.

Year after year we have come across cold temperatures and rain… We will see because it really affects the setup. But this does not really matter to the fans because I recall the atmosphere that there always in Le Mans, and whatever the weather they are always there from the Thursday onwards. It is one of the races with the most tradition, and the stand on the home straight is very long, always full of people, and very close to the grid. I am not surprised that it is very special for the French riders.

Have you seen the photograph? This is what happens when you eat a sandwich in the box with carpet on the floor, the team made me clean up the crumbs! You have to keep your work area clean of course, so I just got down to work.

Greetings to you all, see you in Le Mans.

Dani
