Ana Carrasco found herself struggling with the front end of her bike for most of today’s opening practice sessions at Assen, which is quite a problem at the technical TT-track.

The first day of the Dutch TT began with a forecast of showers. The clouds looked imminent during the first practice in the morning, but the afternoon was bright and shiny.

Ana had already predicted it would be difficult and it clearly was. In the first session she was faster (1.45,254) than her qualifying time of last year, but she couldn’t improve in the afternoon (1.45,844).

“I knew it was going to be difficult at this track with this bike. The bike is moving quite a lot and especially the front is difficult to control. This gives me a lot of trouble at this track, with its fluent layout. Especially in the second part – T3 and T4 – it is difficult to get through the fast corners. My team is looking for a solution of course and I am confident we can make it better.”

Leathers manufacturer and supplier REV’IT! is following RW Racing GP and Ana, and teammate Scott, behind the scenes during this TT. There will be a live chat Saturday at 15.30 (CET) in which the riders will answer questions on Twitter. To get involved use the hashtag #SA922RW.
