Very narrowly – by the tiniest of margins, Efren Vazquez missed a podium finish today at the Tissot Australian Grand Prix.

With his 4th place finish, he confirmed his good performance from the practice days and again earned important points for the championship.

The last races of the season are about gaining important points for the overall standings.

The world championship title has not yet been awarded and things are still open. This was clearly noticeable in today’s race, in which the suspension couldn’t have been any bigger.

Efren and teammate John McPhee were able to hold their starting positions and ride in the leading group right away.

The top group, consisting of eleven drivers, was one big battle for positions throughout the entire race.

In the end, luck played a big role in the race outcome and Efren missed out on the third spot on the podium by milimeters.

Efren Vazquez
“We finished in fourth place. This is the most important. It’s far from the podium. We go to Malaysia and keep fighting in the last two races.”
