Páginas Amarillas HP 40 rider Alex Rins finished a fantastic weekend at the Circuit of the Americas with a victory in the Moto2 class. It was his first win of the season after dominating three of the four sessions and taking the first pole position of the year in the qualifying. He also set a new record that improved on the previous best lap by more than one second.

Álex started from the first position of the grid determined to get twenty-five points, in order to recover ground in the standings. After the light turned off, Rins reached the first corner in third position. Then he advanced to the first position and started to lead. With no one in front, he imposed his rhythm.

With Rins pulling away, Englishman Lowes managed to follow him and escaped from a large group of Zarco, Aegerter, Folger, Nakagami, Luthi and Morbidelli. Sito Pons’ rider was running the distance with the Englishman and it remained so for much of the race.

With five laps Rins unleashed his final attack to gradually increase the difference with Lowes and reach the checkered flag with a gap of two seconds. With the victory, Rins is now occupying the second position in the standings, just one point behind the leader.
