The second day of action for the Italian Grand Prix – round six of the 2018 FIM MotoGP World Championship – has ended with... Top ten Qualifying result for Jorge Navarro at Mugello

The second day of action for the Italian Grand Prix – round six of the 2018 FIM MotoGP World Championship – has ended with a positive result for Jorge Navarro, who went very close to qualifying on the third row in the timed session of the middleweight class.

After struggling in all free practice sessions at the Tuscan track – he finished no higher than 19th in FP – the Spanish rider of Team Federal Oil Gresini Moto2 managed to get a last-lap improvement courtesy also to the great work of the team.

The tenth place on the grid will allow Navarro to try and get closer to the front of the field while battling for the higher part of the standings, in what hopefully will be the turnaround event of his season – which has so far been largely affected by a considerable amount of crashes.

Tomorrow’s Moto2 race will get underway at 12:20 local time (GMT +2).

10th – JORGE NAVARRO #9
“It has been an intense day of work. We tried many things and it appears something good has come out. We improved one second from FP3 and qualifying, and I think it’s a very significant improvement. The bike is almost ready and I can improve riding-wise – but I would say the package is definitely ready.”
