Mid-grid position for Albert Arenas in Spain
Enea Bastianini scored his first pole position since the 2016 Japan Grand Prix in Barcelona, after being one of just two riders able to dip inside 1’49 today alongside Jorge Martín. The Spaniard, who crashed during qualifying session, was able to return to the track and set a time that will allow him to start again from the front row of the grid, although his run of four consecutive poles is now over. Next to them on the front row will be Tatsuki Suzuki, whilst series leader Marco Bezzecchi will start from ninth position.
The MRW Ángel Nieto Team will start the Grand Prix of Catalunya from the middle of the grid. For his part, Albert Arenas suffered two falls during the forty minutes of practice, which has prevented him from completing his work plan and will force him to start from the seventh row of the grid.

“I’m disappointed with qualifying because just when I was setting some good lap times, another rider knocked me down. The bike was pretty damaged, we worked to fix it but it was not running well. In the final part of the session, when we worked it out, I went out to give my best and I fell again and didn’t manage to finish a lap that could have placed us better.”
