Catalunya GP – 250cc FP1, Bautista just off the lead

The final practice of the day saw Mapfre Aspar rider Alvaro Bautista as the fastest man in 250cc for most of the session, only to get pushed off the top spot in the final minute when Alex Debon pulled one quick lap to finish the day only 0.038 seconds ahead of Bautista. Nontheless Bautista’s team seems to have found a good setting already, allowing the Aspar rider to constantly clock fastest laptimes.
His teammate Mike Di Meglio also had a good session, the Frenchman still feeling the effects of the arm-pump surgery he had this week, but getting along well with his new Aprilia RSA machine.
Different fortunes however for Rookie Balazs Nemeth who finished the first day at the Catalunya track outside the time limit.
