Elias enjoys Andorra Supermoto Grand Prix
Toni Elias enjoyed a special day out last Sunday, when he used the break in the MotoGP World Championship to make a surprise visit to the Andorra round of the World Supermoto Championship.
Supermoto, which takes place on a combination of dirt and tarmac, is a discipline familiar to many MotoGP riders, who use it to fine tune their sliding ability.
“I was delighted to accept the invitation to experience the excitement of a Supermoto race,” said the San Carlo Honda Gresini. “It was also really good fun to see riders with such a natural gift for sliding the bike in action. It was a different way to spend time before we head to Estoril, a circuit I love and where I hope to be amongst the pacesetters once again.”
Elias took his first and so far only MotoGP victory at the 2006 Estoril event, when he beat Valentino Rossi by just 0.002sec.
