Lorenzo Fans Heading To Estoril En Masse
Spanish star Jorge Lorenzo will have plenty of support this weekend at the bwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal as he continues his title fight – with his fans planning to show their support in true style this weekend.
Returning to the Estoril track where he took his maiden MotoGP victory last season, Lorenzo will enjoy the site of his X-Fuera (Around The Outside) brand on display in the ‘Tribuna E’ section of the circuit where his fans will display giant flags and banners from Friday to Sunday. His supporters will also attend in fancy dress as Spartan warriors as they try to cheer him towards another victory.
A spokesman for the official Jorge Lorenzo fan club stated, “The fans have been really motivated by Jorge’s results this season. That’s why we want to be here to support him right at trackside at a key moment in his title fight. We are looking forward to welcoming as many ‘Lorenzistas’ as possible in Portugal.”
Lorenzo is hoping to make up a 30 point gap on World Champion Valentino Rossi in the remaining four rounds of 2009, in order to grab the MotoGP title from his illustrious Italian team-mate in just his second premier class season. The 22 year-old rider’s fans will also turn up en masse for the final round of the year at Valencia, where they are sure to put on a true Spanish fiesta.
