Espargaro on front row, but slightly disappointed with second
Pol Espargaró will set off from second place on the starting grid at the Sachsenring circuit for the Grand Prix of Germany while Efrén Vázquez launches from sixth place after a time just three tenths slower than Britain´s Bradley Smith in third spot. ´Polyccio´ engaged in another duel with Marc Márquez – the rider that leads the 125cc World Championship standings by one point – with numerous changes for pole until finally Espargaró had to swallow yet another second position. The two Tuenti Racing riders hope to be in contention for the podium tomorrow, the last event before the summer break.
2nd POL ESPARGARÓ
“I pushed to the limit for practically the whole time and still I couldn´t grab pole position, but at least we have a fantastic rhythm, feeling and dose of confidence for tomorrow where we will push for the win. Everytime we have taken to the track we have improved the behaviour of the bike and set faster laps, finally cutting away three tenths from the quickest lap we have ever done at Sachsenring. We couldn´t keep pole position but it is obvious that we are competitive and we will keep being strong in the fights for the GPs ahead and also the title. Tomorrow we will need to start well and ride a smart race.”.
6th EFRÉN VÁZQUEZ
“I lowered my time from last year by almost two seconds and a half and I am only three tenths from third place, so I think I am ready for a good race and to fight for the podium. Except for Pol and Marc, who are both in another galaxy with times under the circuit record, the rest of us are very close so the classification will be decided by the small moments and details, like not running into traffic and finding a good tow. It will be difficult to follow the first two, but I am going to try as hard as I can to be there and lend a hand to my team-mate.”
