Espargaro hoping for better weather conditions during the rest of the weekend
The rain has affected the debut of the MotoGP riders and Pramac Racing Team riders on Aragon’s track. During the course of today’s second free practice riders have not been able to get out in dry conditions, but they still took on the track to improve their feeling with the new Spanish circuit. For tomorrow the weather forecast promises better conditions.
Aleix Espargarò did not have a lucky day, in addition to this afternoon’s rain he crashed during the first free practice, contusing his right foot. But the Spaniard gritted his teeth and finished the day’s work on the track without too many complications. Tomorrow two more practice sessions will be available for the “white and green” rider with the qualifying session starting at 2.05 pm local time.
Fabiano Sterlacchini – Pramac Racing Technical Director
“From a day like this you cannot ask for much. The first free practice was used to study the track while this afternoon the weather conditions have limited the performance of all riders. For tomorrow the conditions should be better again and I’m confident that our riders can get good results. We need to gain a good position on the starting grid: if we can achieve this, I am sure that our riders will give us a good race performance.”
Aleix Espargarò – Pramac Racing Team – 13th best time in 1’52.752
“The crash this morning certainly didn’t help me, even if I don’t feel any pain in my right foot when I ride my bike. Too bad for the rain, because it would have been important for us to do as many laps as we could on a dry track. For tomorrow the weather should be better and hopefully things will be also better for us.”
