Espargaro fastest in second wet practice in Aragon

Rain has been the great protagonist of the first day of training at the new circuit Motorland Aragon. Pol Espargaró has secured the best time in the wet second practice and has been the one that has adapted to the adverse weather conditions the best, going more than half a second faster than the second fastest rider Marc Márquez and more than a second faster than Nico Terol. Efrén Vázquez, on the other hand, did not get along that well and had to be satisfied with 19th position, although he hopes to improve his time tomorrow and on Sunday. Both Tuenti Derbi riders go into the third race in Spain with the desire to get a good result in front of their home fans.

1. POL ESPARGARÓ, 2.13.224
“I am satisfied with today’s work, because we rode in wet conditions and now we already know where we stand should the race also be in wet conditions. In any case, the forcast for Sunday’s race says dry conditions, so we have to continue working hard in the next practice. I enjoyed riding here, the track has a lot of grip and despite having a few huge moments on teh biek, I was able to get the fastest laptime. At the end it was impossible to ride and very dangerous, because there was a lot of water on the track and I preferred to go back to the pits. We have started the weekend in full force and I hope we can follow this path until Sunday.”

19. EFRÉN VÁZQUEZ, 2.18.368
“I haven’t felt good on the bike at any moment and I wasn’t able to get a good laptime. The bike slid around a lot and didn’t give me enough confidence to open the throttle exiting the corners to go into the fast corners. In these conditions I preferred not to go out and risk too much and I hope for the rest of the weekend we’ll have a dry track. I have a very high motivation to get a good result here, mainly because all my family, friends and many fans from Euskadi are here to see me and watch a race close to their homes”.
