Elias back on pace at Motegi

 In Moto2, News

Toni Elias continued his good form as Moto2 took to the Motegi circuit today, working with enthusiasm throughout the opening practice session and gathering important information for tomorrow. The Spaniard is determined to complete a solid weekend of practice to give himself the best possible opportunity to take victory at Moriwaki’s home race on Sunday.

Toni Elias ( 2nd 1’ 54” 327) “I am quite happy with how the weekend has started here in Japan. Obviously our objective is always to improve and we could do with more stability and traction. We have to take each practice as it comes and try to put ourselves in the best possible position for the race. I really want to win this one with all my heart for Moriwaki at their home circuit. Of course it won’t be easy but I want to be on the podium at least. I need to keep maximum concentration to get the best possible result for the championship and make the road to the title easier.”

Fausto Gresini “I am happy because Toni had a good session. It is only the first day and we have to keep working and try to do as well as possible in the two sessions tomorrow. He could maybe have gone faster but he only used one tyre for the whole session so that is another positive.”
