Espargaro happy with decent qualifying performance

After the 8th fastest time from Aleix Espargarò yesterday he was expected to get a good grid position in the qualifying session. Unfortunately the Spaniard was unable to get a better position than 12th, he will then start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row. Aleix has improved his fastest lap time from first free practice by more than half a second, but this was not enough for him to get a better starting position. The final gap from Lorenzo’s pole position is just over one second. It should be noted, however, the very small gap between the fifth position and Aleix’s position which is only seven tenths.
Tomorrow morning the Pramac duo will be able to try out other technical solutions that should allow them to have a better performance and reduce the gap from the other riders during the race that will start at 4 pm local time.

After yesterday’s eighth position I was hoping to get a top ten grid position. 12th place is still a good to be able to fight with the other riders for a good race position. I improved my lap time thanks to a better grip on the rear of my bike. I am very confident for tomorrow’s race where I’ll try to get a good result to forget the negative race I had last week in Japan.”
