Terol Happy To Break Sepang Jinx With Podium
Bancaja Aspar’s Nico Terol hadn’t placed higher than fifth in his previous visits to Sepang, but got off to a great start in the 2010 race. He took the holeshot and tried to weather the escape attempts of his rivals, with the result being that it was he who established a gap. Five laps on and Márquez and Espargaró had caught up, but Terol did a great job of holding onto third place and taking his sixth consecutive podium. His title chances remain viable.
3rd Nico Terol:
“My pace was good all weekend, but not what Marc’s was. I tried to start very strong in order to pull away, but Pol and Marc made the ground back up and were happy tucked in behind me. At the halfway mark I saw that they were comfortable, so when they attempted a break I tried to focus and keep up. However, they were faster than me today. The important thing is that we have taken another podium and a lot of points at a track that I like, although my best result up until now was fifth. I am happy with our consistency and want to thank my team once again for the great job that they did this weekend.”
