Maquinza replacement rider Javier Fores retires in 9th lap of Malaysian Grand Prix

For Javier Forés, replacing the injured Ricky Cardus, his first result achieved today as a world championship rider at the Shell Advance Motorcylce Grand Prix was not what he wished and promises to go better at the Australian GP.

Forés did not start very well at the beginning of the race losing 4 positions starting 30th in the grid. The valencian rider of the Maquinza SAG Team has been fighting to keep the pace but in 9th lap he suffered a near high side and switched off his Bimota HB4 and after discovering the problem it was too late to rejoin the race. Javier is not too happy with the result and he wants to change this feeling at the next race in Phillip Island Australia, the next week on October 17th.

JAVIER FORÉS (MAQUINZA SAG TEAM // BIMOTA), retired:
“The start of the race has been good but one of my rivals touched me on the first straight and I had to cut the throttle trying not to crash and I lost a lot of positions. After I tried to overtake all the riders but it was very difficult, at the front of the bike we had no confidence during the whole weekend and that did not help us to improve positions. Now we are going to Australia, Phillip Island a circuit that I know too much so I hope that this can be positive for us and we could do a good result there.”
