Pedrosa ready to return to training in January and closing the year with two charity events

The Repsol Honda Team rider, Dani Pedrosa, is in the final stage of his recovery and looks forward to returning to the sport in early January. He will then begin physical preparation to ensure that he is in the best possible condition ahead of the first pre-season practice of 2011, which will be held at the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia from 1st to 3rd February.

Dani, who was runner-up in the MotoGP World Championship 2010, continues his resting stage to recover from the injury he suffered in the Japanese Grand Prix with a double fracture to the left collarbone, which was operated on in the USP Dexeus clinic in Barcelona. The heavy contusion and swelling in the area caused a numbness and lack of strength in the left arm.

Dani Pedrosa will use his last days off to participate in two charity events in the lead-up to Christmas. Next Sunday, December 19th, he will be one of the stars invited to join the TV Marathon held annually by Catalunya´s official TV station, which this year is devoted to raising money for research into spinal cord and acquired brain injuries.

On Tuesday, December 21st, Dani Pedrosa will at a shopping centre in Barcelona (Fnac Illa Diagonal) promoting a children’s book. The story, entitled ‘Two mechanical elves for Dani Pedrosa’ tells the story of his beginnings in the world of motorcycling. 5% of the profits from book sales will go to the NGO SOS Aldeas Infantiles, on Dani’s request. The event will include the launch of the book to the media at 17h30 and the subsequent book signing session for fans from 18:00 to 19:00.
