Ricky Cardus enters his first full Moto2 season with QMMF in 2011
The QMMF Racing Team for 2011 Moto2 championship is now complete and ready for the new season.
Mishal Al Naimi and Spanish youngster Ricky Cardus will be flying the team colours.
The 22-year-old Cardus who signed the contract on 9th December 2010 at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco will be sponsored by Maquinza and already travelled to the Middle East emirate to meet his new team.
Ricky Cardus is the nephew of 1990 250cc World Championship runner-up Carlos Cardus and has experience of 600cc bikes thanks to his regular participation in the CEV Buckler (Spanish National Championship) in the Moto2 category.
Regarding the MotoGP championship his first contact was in 2007, in the 125cc category in the CARDION AB GRAND PRIX CESKE REPUBLIKY and in 2008 he took part in two races, Catalunya and Valencia, also in 125cc. This year, in 2010, he took part in nine races in the Moto2 category with the Maquinza-SAG Team and his best result was 20th in the GP Apero di San Marini e Riviera di Rimini in Italy.
The signing of the agreement was between both sides, Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation with Mr. Nasser Khalifa Al Atya and the rider Ricky Cardus and the Sponsor Maquinza, with Mrs. Beatriz Poves Royo as its representative.
