Adrian Martin returns to Aspar, joins Faubel & Terol for three men team

 In News

The winter break has been long and it is the time of year when all the teams prepare for the season ahead. Not only as far as development of the bikes is concerned but also in setting up their teams. The Bancaja Aspar Team has been strengthened this week with a new rider, the young Chiva native Adrian Martin. A diamond in the rough, coming from the Cuna de Campeones Bancaja just like the world championship runner-ups and current 125cc Bancaja Aspar riders Nico Terol and Hector Faubel.

With this the 19-year-old returns to the team with which he started in the world championship in 2008. Adrian debuted at the San Marino Grand Prix and competed in the final races of the championship (Japan, Australia, Malaysia and Valencia) with the team. With this new addition the Bancaja Aspar Team returns to the infrastructure of the 2008 and 2009 seasons which had three riders in the 125cc category. This year it also shows the strong commitment to their region since all three riders are from the Valencian Community. Hector and Nico, the veterans in the team and contenders for the 125cc title, and Adrian, the new generation who will gradually join the two veterans. A luxury for a team that hopes to continue this season by reaching for the best.

Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’: “I think Adrian can play a big role this season in the 125cc class. It is his second full year in the world championship and despite being young and still in the learning phase he has potential. Furthermore he will have Faubel and Terol as teammates and if he knows how to take advantage of this he can learn a lot and gain experience. Regarding the team we return to the 125cc structure with three riders which gave us so many great results in the past. It will mean extra work because we have six riders spread across the three categories of the championship, but the whole team is very excited about the new project. Now we must get to work immediately to get him the best material as soon as possible. I’m proud to see that this year more than ever, the 125cc Aspar Team is filled with Valencians, a great bet.”

Adrian Martin: “I’m overjoyed to return to the team that gave me the opportunity to do my first race in the World Championship. I’m proud to wear the colors of the Aspar Team, a winning team and a reference in the small categories. I will have a factory bike and I’ll join two great riders, surely I will learn a lot. It is too early to set targets, but to finish all races in the top ten would be good. This is my second full season, I am slowly gaining experience and I hope to make a big step. I would like to fight for the Top 5 or even a podium in some races. It will not be easy because the class will be hotly contested as ever, but sharing the box with Nico and Hector will help me evolve for sure. “
