Jorge Lorenzo designs toy car for new sponsor Hot Wheels
Reigning MotoGP world championship has signed a sponsorship deal with Mattel, specifically their toy car brand Hot Wheels for the upcoming season. As part of the deal Lorenzo was given the opportunity to help design his own signature Hot Wheels car which will be sold this year.
The toy car sports Lorenzo’s trademark red-black colours and his new number one design.
Jorge Lorenzo: “It is an honor to work with a brand like Hot Wheels. I think we fit together very well with them being so close to the children and so closely tied to the motorsport world. Also I have a very special motivation for this project. I’ve always dreamed to design a car completely they way I want it and now it’s become reality. As a child I played with these mini cars and now I have my own. It’s incredible.”
José Domingo Verdera, Hot Wheels Europe marketing manager: This is a great opportunity to strengthen the bond of Hot Wheels with the motorsport world. Jorge is a true Hot Wheels rider and perfectly embodies our values: dynamism, spirit of excellence and youth. We are very pleased to have reached this agreement.”
