Efren Vazquez satisfied with preseason and looking for consistent pace throughout the year
The Jerez circuit today marked the end of preseason testing after the track hosted the final three days of testing in which again rain and wind have become a hindrance for the rider’s work. Efren Vazquez has used this final test to adapt further to his new bike and team and prepare for the first race of the season. The Bilboa native is satisfied with the work done so far, but is mainly looking for a good base setting and consistency.
He’ll be back on track with the rest of the 125cc riders at the first GP of Qatar in two week’s time.
Efren Vazquez: “I would have liked to accumulate a few more miles of testing. I know that the work we’ve done has been much more fruitful than what the laptimes indicate. The progress we’ve made will be seen when we arrive at the first races. From my experience I know it’s a long season and the important thing is to have a solid foundation which allows us to maintain consistency throughout the year. But in any case there are still things we can improve about the setting and my riding style. We are a still half a second behind and we have to start closing that gap as soon as possible. The team works with a well-defined methodology and nobody ever loses their calm. They have everything very clear and this also makes me very calm.
