Pol Espargaro continues to progress in his debut in Moto2 and in the official qualifying session of the Qatar Grand Prix, opening round of the MotoGP World Championship 2011 he improved his best time by 1.1 seconds. The HP Tuenti rider is a second slower that the the ‘Top 10’ and will start his first race in the new category from the eighth row on the grid, aiming to fight for points.

24. POL ESPARGARÓ, 2.02.536
“I improved my time by more than a second, but it only allowed me to move up one position compared to yesterday. I think I could have gone a little faster, but following a former MotoGP rider like Mika Kallio didn’t turn out too good, he went even slower than me. Little by little we are improving, but clearly slower than we’d like. After fighting at the top in 125cc it’s difficult for me to be so far behind, but if I look at the times I am only a second slower than the ‘Top 10’. The bike has improved compared to yesterday and I can ride with more confidence, but I keep making mistakes at various points of the circuit and I need to be consistent in every lap.”
