Vazquez looking to improve corner speed to be ready for home race

 In News

The riders of Finnish Ajo team lead by Aki Ajo will start from great positions on Sunday when the season’s second GP of the 125 cc class will be held at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

Avant-AirAsia-Ajo Derbi rider Efren Vazquez who is competing in front of his home crowd finished fourth in the qualifying session while his French teammate Johann Zarco took fifth position, less than 0,2 seconds behind the Spaniard.

The team has worked hard on Vazquez’ riding and his bike settings, but there are still some improvements to make, especially in the middle of the corners. The team hopes to improve in the sectors where the top teams have so far been able to clock better partial times.

German Sandro Cortese who competed in the Finnish team in the last two seasons took pole position. He was able to leave Spaniard Nicolas Terol, who is leading the 125cc class, behind him by 0,209 seconds. Vazquez finished 1,014 seconds behind Cortese.

Aki Ajo: All our riders have done good work at the windy Jerez circuit. Khairuddin and Vazquez have really improved their work during this weekend.”

Efren Vazquez: “Now I have to carefully analyse my riding performance. Lets see if I can find some answers how to improve the speed in the middle of the corners.”
