Cardus not giving up and battling to 22nd after crash
QMMF Racing Team riders Mashel Al-Naimi and Ricky Cardús showed true racing spirit at the Spanish Grand Prix when they both crashed but continued to fight and to finish the Moto2 race. Al Naimi was the first to go down on lap six. He pulled in for a quick pit stop to repair minor damage, then went out again to finish the race in 33rd spot. Teammate Cardús crashed out in a fight with Italian Mattia Pasini on lap 20, but bravely rode on to finish in 22nd position.
Ricky Cardus, 22nd: A really fun race. I really enjoyed being out there, even though it felt like it would never end. I made a small beginner’s mistake and crashed out when fighting with Pasini for 11th. But at least we got the bike back out and continued the race, this way we could collect more data for the future. I wanted to finish the race, to honor and thank my team for their hard work. We are now well prepared.”
