Cardus losing confidence and speed after crash in morning session
QMMF Racing Team rider Ricky Cardús, who had never been on the Le Mans circuit before, impressed the spectators with quick lap times early in the first practice session for the French Motorcycle Grand Prix, but then took too many risks and suffered a set-back with a crash. In the afternoon, the 23-year-old Spaniard wasn’t able to improve on his previous best time and slipped to 26th place.

“We went out very confident in the morning, although it is my first time here. The problem is that sometimes the situation goes against you: I crashed and it ended my first session. In the afternoon we went with another engine configuration, but my riding was not the same. The crash affected me, I lost some confidence and the bike seemed more difficult to ride. We have to adjust some things in the setup that should help me to control my mistakes more. We will try to do better tomorrow.”
