Rabat fights the pain to finish race but disappointed not to take points
Neither Yonny Neither Hernandez nor Tito Rabat have been able to get into the top fifteen at the French Grand Prix and for the first time this season the Blusens-STX team’s two riders have been outside the points. Tito Rabat suffered a crash yesterday in which he seriously injured the little finger of his right hand and this injury has influenced his race, but in a glorious performance he has been able to hang on to his FTR for the 26 of the GP and crossed the line in 21st place. Both riders maintained for several turns a beautiful duel between themselves and their teammate Kenny Noyes.
Rabat will be operated by Dr Mir at the Dexeus clinic tomorrow and hopes to be able to get back on his FTR at the test the team has scheduled for May 25th and 26th at the Circuit de MotorLand Aragon.
34 TITO RABAT (21º. 43’39.073, +35.765): “I was not doing too good or at one hundred percent due to crashing yesterday with all the medication I’ve gotten from the Clinica Mobile to enable me to start. I started to make the 26 laps of the race and continue taking the most positive experience and we have been able to ride to just eight tenths slower than the fastest lap. The hand has bothered me a bit and it was quite uncomfortable to ride with the hand injury, but the important thing is that I could hang on and finish the race. I’m a little disappointed to break the streak of consecutive points-scoring finishes with the crash yesterday and the finger injury, but tomorrow Dr Mir will operate me in theDexeus clinic and I hope to be in perfect condition for the next race in Catalunya. Before that we have a couple of days of testing at MotorLand on the 25th and 26th of this month and I hope to continue learning and use it to see how I am with the injury.”
