Birthday boy Espargaro starts the weekend sixth fastest
Pol Espargaró had a good start Grand Prix of Great Britain, taking the 6th fastest laptime and giving the impression of having forgotten the mechanical problems which affeacted his race last weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya. The Tuenti rider has been one of those to take a risk in the final stages of the session, riding with slick tires wile the track still had some damp areas. Polyccio improved his time steadily and enjoyed the fast track of Silverstone at which he took second place in the 125cc class last year.
6. Pol Espargaro, 2.18.932: “It was a quite complicated session, with parts of the circuit completely dry and others being wet. In the end I was one of the first riders to decide to try the slick tyres and take a bit of a risk, you had to be very careful between the second and third sector. I think we did a good start to a weekend which seems complicated, because the weather for tomorrow and Sunday looks very changeable and with lots of rain. After the problems last weekend at the Circuit de Catalunya, centered on the chassis, here at Silverstone we are excited and eager to fight for the Top 10. Not being able to do so at Montmelo was a disappointment, but luckily there have only been a few days to let that get to me and we are back on the bike to learn and giving the best in every session.”
