Moncayo satisfied with third row start
Continuing the work started yesterday at the Silverstone circuit, the Team Andalucía – Banca Cívica – Diputación de Cádiz and Alberto Moncayo achieved a result which lets them return to the fight for top positions. The rider from Cadiz finished the qualifying session in 9th position, which puts him in third row, a position from which he intends to launch his attack on the Top 5.
The sun has come out today at the British circuit of Silverstone. This has allowed the Andalusian team and the rider to continue their work on the set-up which they started in the first free practice yesterday. After several races in which a number of difficulties prevented the team led by Pedro Machado to fight for the results they deserve, it appears that the Grand Prix of Great Britain marks the return to a good way and Alberto as well as the team hope to fight for good positions in the race tomorrow.
Alberto Moncayo, 9° (2’16 .250)
“I’m happy because we are back on track and improving a lot, but we have to keep working because we are a second and a half behind and have plenty of room for improvement. The forecast says that tomorrow it will rain a lot, so the race probably will be very different to what we have now, but we will work a lot in the WarmUp and hope we can do a very good result.”
PEDRO MACHADO, Team Director: “We are on the right track, every time things are going better and it shows in the team’s work and the results of the rider. Every time Albert has gone out on track he improved the times and, most importantly, he’s done it on his own, not together with to any other rider. We are 0.5s behind 5th and I think we can improve a little more, so I think the race he can be among the top five. In any case, all forecasts say it’ll rain and under these conditions we could not test much, so we’ll hope for a good start and do a very consistent race. In any case, we recovered to a good line of work and I am sure the results will come.”
