“No dream result” for Elias but satisfied considering difficulties

LCR Honda MotoGP racer Toni Elias crossed the line in 10th place in today’s 26-lap Ducth Grand Prix at Assen race track ahead 92.150 fans. After Barcelona and Silverstone even the Dutch round was held in cold conditions (14° degrees) with Spies taking his first victory ahead Stoner and Dovizioso.

In yesterday’s tough qualifying session Elias wasn’t able to make the most of the softer rear tyre qualifying 16th on the grid but the Spaniard took another strong start from the last row and despite the slippery conditions of the Dutch asphalt, which disrupted premier class riders’ performances, the Moto2 World Champion kept his steady rhythm till the end of the seventh round of the calendar. Now Elias and his squad will move to Italy for the crowded Mugello GP
on the 3rd of July.

Toni Elias: “Well.. as I said many times already this is not the position I was dreaming but considering the rear grip issues and these difficult asphalt conditions I am very satisfied about this race. I took another good start from the last row finishing the first lap in 9th position. Suddenly Abraham crashed in front of me and I risked to crash into him so I lost a couple of seconds there. If the race would have been wet I could fight for a better position but I can not complain now. We still have many fix to adjust in the dry and we will see what the weather is going to be in Mugello”.
