Rabat just loses out on points after great battle in Italian heat

Things have not gone too well for the Blusens-STX team at the Italian Grand Prix which has broken a run of three consecutive races in which both riders finished in the points. Tito Rabat did very well and positioned himself among the top twelve, but then the engine of his FTR lost performance and he lost positions. After fighting hard for the last place in the points he finally had to settle for 16th place. With this result Tito is now 13th overall with the same 37 points he already had.

34 TITO RABAT (16º. 40’25.149, +22,208): “We did a good start but then I think the bike didn’t quite go well, as we expected the development has taken quite long and it was very difficult to go faster and do better. I’m not happy with the performance of the engine and maybe I myself could also have done a bit more. Now what we have to do is work hard ahead of the next race to solve these problems. It is the first year in this category and these things happen, we know that there are races where we will do well and at others less so. That’s why I’m not upset or disappointed to have broken the streak of three Grands Prix with scoring points. In the corners I go as fast as the others, but we didn’t have a good top speed. Still we finished just outside the top 15.”
