Elias finishes 13th at The Brickyard as he fights rear spinning

Over 64.000 American fans enjoyed the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway today for the twelfth round of the season which saw Stoner taking his seventh victory ahead Pedrosa and Spies. The 28-lap race was conducted in hot conditions with track temperatures of 51 degrees and LCR racer Toni Elias managed to finish 13th despite some low grip troubles.

The Spaniard has started from the 15th spot on the grid aiming to close the gap to the front group but he could not match his yesterdays’ good pace struggling with rear grip on the new repaved slippery asphalt. Now LCR Team will move straight to Misano circuit for the San Marino e Riviera di Rimini GP on the 4th of September.

Toni Elias – 13th: “Well… it seems we had a big issue about the rear spinning for the whole race… a bit more than everybody and I could not keep the corner speed in the entry of the curves. For all these reasons my pace was a few tenths slower than what we expected and I could not stay in the good group. I have tried to follow Aoyama first and then Rossi and Crutchlow but they were faster than me. We need to find those few tenths to race for the top ten and this is our main target for the next week end in Misano.”
