Good comeback for Espargaro to score top ten finish

 In Moto2, News

Despite the difficult situation he found himself in after the qualifying on Saturday, Aleix Espargaro was riding with force to stage a good comeback in the race at Indianpolis, a very tight race where there’s for once been not a single incident at the head of the field. Espargaró, who has been struggling during the last race weekends with his lack of fitness, having been unable to train after the crash in Germany, set a good pace and managed to get into the top ten, coming from 17th on the grid.

#40. Aleix Espargaro: 10º
“The bike was very, very short on the setting, in some corners I used the wrong gear during the weekend and I realized it in the race, but it was too late. On the straight the sixth needed to be used and I could not pass anyone and it was very difficult, because I had to pass them under braking. I’m very tired physically after not having trained for so long and it shows. I finished tenth, it was a bad weekend where we suffered a lot from the qualifying result. I have two race finishes in the top ten, but we need to be a little further up. Anyway, I didn’t ride too badly and was relatively comfortable, but losing a lot on the straights. Still, the bike worked better than yesterday and that’s positive.”
