Joan Olive back in Moto2 as temporary teammate of Tito Rabat
With memories still fresh from the podium in Indianapolis Tito Rabat travels to Misano with the intention of making further progress, as he has all season. The success at the American circuit has done nothing more than motivate him even further to stay focused on his work preparing for every GP. Despite the joy of the podium, Tito knows how hard Moto2 is and doesn’t want to distract himself just thinking about this success.
The goal is to go to Misano with the highest concentration, prepare the race well and try to get a good result, but not be obsessed with it. This time Tito’s teammate will be Joan Olive, who replaces Yonny Hernandez as the Columbian is still recovering from his injuries he suffered in Brno. Olivé, an experienced rider with several podiums in 125cc, didn’t have much luck when he was racing in Moto2 last season as the teammate of Kenny Noyes. The recovery process of Yonny now allows him to participate in the Misano GP with the Blusens-STX Team, which is a great incentive for him and for the team.
Tito Rabat: “Being on the podium at Indianapolis was a fantastic experience. Fortunately I knew what it felt like to jump on the rostrum in a world championship race, because I did it before in 125cc, but to get it in Moto2 and in the first season was brilliant. But that does not mean anything. I have to keep working the way I’ve done so far and I am aware that I have still a lot to learn. The race at Misano I will face very excited, but with the same humility as always. As I said before going to Indianapolis, the goal is to do good work with the team and be among the top ten. If something better comes after that… it will be welcome!”
Joan Olivé: “I am delighted to be back out on track. I’ve been watching many race on TV and you can not imagine how eager I was to race. The call from the Blusens-STX team has given me great joy and I want to thank those responsible for it as well as KTM for not giving my any restrictions to participate in this GP, despite being linked to the Austrian brand as test rider for their Moto3 bike.”
