Espargaro keeps momentum to start Misano in good form
Pol Espargaro remains confident after the podium position he achieved last Sunday in Indianapolis and he set the seventh fastest time on the first day of the San Marino Grand Prix, taking place at Misano. The HP Tuenti rider has already been among the best in the morning session, leading the timesheets with five minutes to go and finally finishing in fifth.
In the afternoon he went from little to much, finishing seventh after a slow rider got in his way on his last lap and kept him from fighting for the provisional front row. The goal for the qualifying will be to get as high as possible on the grid to be well positioned for the race, continue working on the lap consistency and circle in the right tyre choice.

“We started well and I am confident, although at the end I ran into a slow rider in the middle of the line which made me lose three tenths in the third sector and kept me from fighting for second place. The podium from Indianapolis gave us confidence and here at Misano I hope to progress and return to fight for good positions. I’m riding comfortable on the bike, but we must keep working, because I have problems with the front at a couple of points on the circuit. Right now I’m being consistent lap by lap, but it is important to get a good position on the grid to be at the front in the race.”
