Delighted Vazquez takes second podium of the season

Two riders of the Finnish Avant-AirAsia-Ajo team climbed onto the podium today at the season’s 12th Grand Prix of the 125cc series, the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini.

Efren Vazquez took his second podium position of the season when he finished a clear but lonely third, he was also third in Le Mans. Vazquez started off well and together with his teammate Zarco hunted down Nico Terol who was already starting to escape at the front, but ultimately he couldn’t quite go the same pace as the two front runners and secured third place. He is now seventh in the championship

The next Grand Prix will be in two weeks at the Motorland Aragon track in Spain.

Efren Vazquez: I made a good start and tried to hang in there with the top group, but in the end I couldn´t reach Terol and Zarco without taking risks. But all in all I am really pleased with this position. I was able to show my full potential and luckily there are still races left so I can strengthen that.”
