First lap crash marks bad finish to bad weekend for Rabat
It’s not been a good weekend for the members of the Blusens-STX team. Neither Tito Rabat nor Yonny Hernandez managed to finish on a positive note after a weekend that was hard and complicated from the beginning. The rain in qualifying, a heavy crash of Hernández in free practice and Tito’s problems to get a proper setting have set the tone of the weekend for the riders of the Cardedeu team. The race was not an exception and the difficulties continued. Tito crashed out when he touched with Pasini on the first lap while Yonny ran off track and was relegated to last place after he had to avoid the crash of Torres and West in the first corner. Now they have to think positive and start looking ahead to Malaysia.
34 TITO RABAT: “I started well and I tried to make progress as quickly as possible. In the corner I overtook Pasini, but I could not avoid touching him and went down. I feel bad for him and especially for the team. Crashing on the first lap is a mistake, but I could not do anything about it. It really wasn’t a good weekend. The good news is that I’ve not been injured and that in Malaysia I can be 100%.”
