Last week, as you know we went to Sepang to practice. I was dying to get back to the routine at the circuits and ride my bike. We had three days of work that gave us some very positive sensations as we could concentrate on developing the new bike.

At Cheste we saw that the bíke went well and in Malaysia we were able to test it with the modifications that both Casey and I had recommended. The second and third days I concentrated my work on the new chassis, which had some small modifications, and so be able to compare it with the previous one. We were also trying out tyres for Bridgestone. Although the most important change has been the weight since the bike has to be adapted to the new rules.

Overall, as I was saying, these tests were positive but we have to carry on making progress. In Sepang we could also see that other factories are working a lot. In the end though all pre-seasons are the same: you start from zero.

Personally it is turning out to be a positive pre-season: 2011 was not a great year referring to injuries. Fortunately I am starting the new season without any injuries to recover from. During the winter I concentrated on work that would strengthen my shoulders. The truth is that starting a pre-season with only the bike to think about is a totally different matter. Let`s hope it carries on like this.

Physical training is crucial at this point. Each bike makes its own demands. Moreover, this season the bike is more powerful and is heavier, and so the tests in Sepang also helped me to discover which parts of my body need more work doing on them. Even more so taking into account the fact that it was extremely hot, ad so they have also been very beneficial bearing that in mind.

Now I have to carry on gaining strength until we get back on the bike ….. I can`t wait!

Regards
