Marquez confirms further testing absence, won’t ride at Jerez

Marc Marquez has confirmed in his Repsol Blog that he is not yet fully recovered after his ongoing problems with double vision and will therefore have to miss yet another test and not be able to ride at Jerez later this week for the second preseason test of 2012.
It puts Marquez’ second full season in the intermediate class on to a bad start as he is clearly regarded as one of the favourites and it’s not yet sure how long it will take for him to regain 100% vision.
However, according to Marquez and his doctors everything’s going according to schedule, so his season as of now should not be in danger.

Below is his complete Blog entry.

Hello everybody!

How are you coping with the cold? Here in Cervera we are below zero almost everyday recently but we are quite used to this weather at this time of the year. Years ago it was much worse, according to what my parents say.

Today I was with the doctor in Barcelona and everything is going according to schedule, that is I am healing as was expected. But for the time being the team and I will stay at home this week and we will not participate in the practice that will take place at Jerez. But I want you to know that we will not be on holiday taking it easy, nothing of the sort.

The team is to be found planning the season and of course, each and every detail of the bike, the pits, the truck… You know, they take care of making sure that everything works perfectly during the season. But me I am working on my physical preparation, training flat out on a motocross bike and so I can’t wait to get back on my Moto2 bike.

I want to thank you all for the support you have shown me with your messages. You`re great! By the way I see that many of you have participated in the vote I proposed to win my helmet, my boots and my gloves. To those of you who have not voted for your three favourite races yet, you still have time to do so.

Good luck to you all!
See you soon.

Marc
