Official IRTA Test Jerez, Day 1 Results Moto2: Espargaro again strongest Spaniard, Marquez close behind

Swiss rider Thomas Lüthi finished the first day of the final Moto2 test at Jerez with the fastest laptime, opening a gap of almosot 0.3 seconds over second-fastest rider Takaaki Nakagami. The test is the first time all Moto2 riders are together on track and provides a real shakedown test for everyone ahead of the first race at Qatar.
Fastest Spaniard once again was Pol Espargaro with the Pons Kalex, finishing the day in fourth position, less than 0.4 seconds behind Lüthi. Marc Marquez returned to the track for his first real comparison test this season and finished the day behind Espargaro in fifth, less than half a second behind Lüthi.
