Barbera working tirelessly on final day of Jerez test and satisfied with team’s work
In the final session of the IRTA test at Jerez, the Green Team was trying different set-up solutions to search the best one, depending on the weather and the track conditions. Hèctor Barberà completed a total of 91 laps, which is equivalent to the length of three races.
During the day Hèctor also tried the new Bridgestone front tyre, which appeared to be a good match with the machine. Despite the eventual 11th place, with a laptime of 1.40.287, the overall result of these three days in Jerez was very positive for the Pramac Racing Team. Hèctor and his crew collected a good deal of information about the Ducati and found differents setting solutions for their return to the track in Qatar as well as for the 2nd round of in Jerez in late April.
Héctor Barberà “To be honest, these three days were a little bit strange, mainly due to the windly conditions. We made numerous adjustments on our Ducati and we worked particularly on the electronics set-up. After yesterday, where we lost a lot of time due to bad weather conditions, today we worked tirelessly to make a step forward. I did 91 laps. We found a good set-up and now I’m able to ride in a better way, in particolar with the tyres. When I tried to improve my best laptime, there were a lot of riders on track and I lost my chance. But I’m satisfied with how the test went. We also tested the new Bridgestone tyres, which worked very well with our Ducati.”
Marco Rigamonti – Track Engineer Pramac Racing Team
“These three days were very difficult for us due to the weather conditions. But fortunately today we worked in a positive way. We found a nice feeling with the bike and we also found differents good solutions with tyres, compared to the Malaysian test during which we had some problems with the tyre wear. Now we got a good set-up which enables us to mantain our laptime, also with used tyres. We tested the new Bridgestone tyres, but only for few laps, because we prefered to work on the materials that we will definitely work with during the season.”
