Rodríguez staying positive despite crash in second free practice

The circuit of Estoril today celebrated the first day of the final Portuguese Grand Prix of the world championship.

Desguaces La Torre SAG rider Ángel Rodríguez started the Grand Prix weekend on the right foot, finishing the first free practice in 16th and only one second behind the leader. Rodri was very comfortable on his FTR M212 and was sure that in FP2 he could get a good result, but this feeling vanished when he lost grip on the front in the first corner of the third lap and crashed. Rodri fortunately escaped unscathed and is still feeling positive ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying session.

29.ÁNGEL RODRÍGUEZ (DESGUACES LA TORRE SAG TEAM // FTR), 1’44.989:
“The crash this afternoon was a shame, because I think I could have been far up in the standings. We came from doing a good result in FP1 and what’s even better, my confidence on the bike was increasing with every lap I did. In the afternoon we started the practice with the goal to make the top ten, but in the first corner I crashed. We hope that tomorrow the weather will continue to be as good as today and that we can do a good qualifying.”
