It’s been a difficult weekend for the JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse Team in Estoril, with a lot of work on the bike setup and many crashes, but in the end all the effort paid off with an excellent fifth position for Efrén Vázquez who fought at the maximum until the finish line. The Basque rider was the second FTR rider over the line which shows the work of the team which in only three sessions of dry practice managed to produce a competitive bike.

The luck wasn’t favouring Adrián Martín however. The Valencian was also looking competitive in the practice sessions, but crashes, especially in the warmup, and a a mechanical problem at the start which forced him to start from pitlane affected him a lot and finally caused him to retire from the race.

Iván Moreno continued his progress and finished in 20th position, improving his laptimes from practice and showing that every time he’s adapting more to the Moto3 category.

#7 Efrén Vázquez 5º “After how the preseason went and where we were at in Qatar, this result is very good. Fifth is not where I want to be this season, but with the little time we had on this bike, getting a fifth position in the championship in the second race shows that we’ve done a good job. It’s a reward for the team which hasn’t stopped working and searched for the best technical level to be in front. We couldn’t ride as much as we’d have liked, but with only a hundred laps on this bike to finish fifth and second FTR is not bad I think.”

#26 Adrián Martín “It’s been a difficult weekend for everyone, but we have to see the positive side and the important thing is that we know that we can be further up front. The crashes affected me, but the bike has a lot of potential. Today’s been a shame, because I crashed in the morning and I hurt my left hand and knee. Despite this I wanted to race, because I was convinced I could do well. But the bike stopped on the grid and I had to start last from pitlane. I passed a few riders, but the hand hurt and I preferred to be fit for Le Mans.

#21 Iván Moreno 20º “It’s been a race from little to more. I started from a little behind, but then I found my pace and I felt more comfortable on the bike with every lap. The best lap was very good and the rhythm very constant. I’ve also rode within a group and I enjoyed it. I think little by little we’ll improve and every time we are closer to the points. I found points in which I can improve and in Le Mans I hope to make another step forward.”

Jaime Fdez-Avilés (Team Manager) “I’m very happy, because these are the first points for the team, a fifth in the championship. The team has worked a lot during the whole weekend, because the riders have a lot of motivation and had a lot of crashes. The two have battled all weekend and although Adrián didn’t have luck on his side today, Efrén did a great race and I think if we continue this way we can dream of a podium this season. The change of bike has been successful and I want to say thanks to JHK T-Shirt and Bimbo for their support, because without them this wouldn’t have been possible. And especially Jacinto Cervera who has blindly trusted in the LaGlisse project.”
