Dani Pedrosa Blog, Portugal: An important podium

The one at Estoril this weekend has been another important podium to make sure we keep accumulating points in the World Championship. The truth of the matter is that we’ve been quite lucky with the weather over the weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday, because we had practically perfect conditions.

We managed to ensure some good fine-tuning over the weekend, but were unable to reach the pole on Saturday. It was a shame that my bike skidded on the first left curve during the race. Casey got going at a very fast pace right from the start, and this compelled us to wheel fast too.

Mounting the podium in the three races so far has been something very important. We know we have to keep working hard if we want to keep fighting for the title. It’s a very long season and we need to keep getting points from race to race to stay at the helm. I’m doing fine physically, and that’s very important too.

We had a test today on the circuit, but the rain meant that we couldn’t go out onto the track to try out some things we had planned. Now it’s time to recharge the batteries and start thinking already about Le Mans. I’ll tell you next week about how the week has been.

By the way, many thanks for all the messages you leave me here. You’re the best!

All the best
