Early crash after only one quick lap relegates Rodriguez to 30th on the grid

The qualifying for the French Grand threw everything upside down for the Desguaces La Torre – SAG Team which ended the session with Ángel Rodríguez in a position far down the order.

Spaniard Ángel Rodríguez saw all of his chances for a good grid position vanish when he made a mistake in the third lap and crashed out. Despite the best efforts of the mechanics to fix the Bimota in time for Rodri to get back out on track, it wasn’t possible to repair the bike before the end of the session which meant that the Valenciano was relegated back to the 10th row of the grid.

30.ÁNGEL RODRÍGUEZ (DESGUACES LA TORRE SAG TEAM // BIMOTA), 1’41.443:
“You can’t say much about a day like today. It’s of crucial importance to do a good qualifying and in today’s I did a mistake which saw me on the ground having been able to do only one quick lap. We have to look forward, because this is far from over, so tomorrow it’s important to make a good start and make up a handful of positions in the first lap, I only wish it doesn’t rain.”
