Silva hoping to take advantage of “most favorable circuit on the calendar”

The double dream to race at home and in the big class of the MotoGP world championship will become true this weekend for the Avintia Racing Team at the circuit of Montmeló. Because the saying of “riding at home” is almost literally true for the the Avintia Blusens crew, their headquarters being in Cardedeu, a locality less than 20 kilometres from the Catalunya circuit. So it’s not surprising that the entire team is very excited ahead of the Grand Prix where they’ll have the support of friends and family which will follow the progress of their riders. Spaniard Iván Silva is hoping that Montmeló, his favourite track, will be the starting point for a fruitful season.

Iván Silva: “I can’t deny that I am very excited ahead of the Grand Prix in Montmeló. It’s a circuit which has always been very good for me and suits my riding style. I had very good results here and I’d like to achieve them again. My friends and family will be there, which is always a help. It’s logical that we need to find a good setup to enable us to go to the limit, because we’re in the world championship and therefore it’s the highest level. Maybe Montmeló is the most favorable circuit for me on the whole calendar, so I’ll aim to make use of these circumstances as good as I can.”
