Rosell still struggling with lack of grip and engine power

In qualifying for the Grand Prix of Catalunya, QMMF Racing team rider Anthony West felt good and comfortable after the latest chassis improvements of his team, but failed to get a competitive lap time due to ongoing problems with engine performance.

His Spanish team-mate Elena Rosell, who suffered a painful crash on Friday, was relieved to be in better condition than initially expected with her right shoulder injury. But in qualifying, she kept struggling with a lack of tyre grip and was not able to use her track knowledge at her home Grand Prix to her advantage.

“My shoulder is much better today than yesterday after the crash, but we keep struggling with the bike. I was sliding lots and at the same time, I didn’t have the engine power to go forward the way I would have liked to. We are analyzing the data and we are making changes all the time, but we don’t seem to make a lot of progress. I know the way around this track, I know where to brake and where the best lines are, but I still can’t use my track knowledge here at Montmeló to my advantage. In the warm-up tomorrow, we will continue to try things, but there is only so much we can do!”
