Still some work to do for Salom at Silverstone
The first two practice sessions at the famous Silverstone circuit in England in general were ‘ok’ for RW Racing GP. But there still is a lot of work remaining for the next practice and for qualifying. With Luis Salom in 8th position and Brad Binder back in 25th improvements would be welcome for the Dutch team.
The new chassis that Kalex provided to Salom in Barcelona has had some adjustments. The new fairing and wind screen helped the Spaniard to a top speed of 212,1 kilometer: almost the highest of the Moto3 field.
Luis Salom (8th): “The session in the morning was in the wet and therefore difficult to start. In the afternoon it was dry but windy. I could feel the new chassis has improved. The top speed is great, but the handling in the corners still has to improve. We still have some steps to make. Especially in sector 1 and 2 I should be faster.”
Team manager Johan Stigefelt: “It is a bit of a puzzle this weekend. I am not unsatisfied, but for the dry as for the wet we have some things to do for both Luis and Brad. Not really big steps, but small things. In some areas we have to go back to the settings from Barcelona, although the circumstances – the weather and the circuit – are very different.”
