Fifth-placed Vazquez not happy with hard battle in Moto3 race at Silverstone

The JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse leaves Silverstone with a bittersweet feeling. Satisfied on the one hand with the fifth place of Efrén Vázquez, who once more gave it all on track to fight for the podium, but on the other hand feeling like more was possible. But still the result was very positive after he qualified for second position on the grid yesterday, showing that the team is doing a great job.

It’s been a shame about the broken exhaust of Adrián Martín, because despite starting from far behind he was making up positions with a good pace, but in the eighth lap he had to retire and return to the box.

Teammate Iván Moreno made up no less than twelve positions to finish the race in 22nd. It’s not the result he and the Andalucía JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse team expect, but keeping in mind that it’s only his first year in the championship and he doesn’t know the circuits, it’s not been too bad.

#7 Efrén Vázquez – 5º “It’s been a difficult race. Certainly not the kind of race I expected. I knew it would be a combative group, but for me what we did today wasn’t racing, because it’s impossible to get a rhythm and the only thing you do is get in the way of your rivals. The team has worked a lot and very good, but we still need a little in the engine to fight for the podium. Taking away what happened in the race, in general the weekend wasn’t bad. We worked well and everytime we progress more, but certainly after being second yesterday this is not the result I expected or where I wanted to finish.”

#21 Iván Moreno 22º “The result is not exceptional, but I’m happy because the race was a lot of fun and I felt very good on the bike and with the track. Three or four laps to the end the tyre went off substantially and I was lacking a bit. But in general, not knowing the circuit, everything went well. I’m very happy with the work of the team, because we improved every day throughout the entire weekend and in the end we had a pretty decent rhythm and gained experience which can be valuable for the next race.”

#26 Adrián Martín “It’s been a shame, because the exhaust of the bike broke. To be honest we started normal, because a rider crashed in front of me and I lost a few positions. Then I started riding with a good pace and I was set out to catch up with the group I had in front. But although I felt very comfortable, I started to notice that the bike didn’t go well and then each time it made more noise… The exhaust had broken and I had to come back into the pits. It’s a pity, because again we had a full weekend without a crash and my confidence with the bike has grown. I hope that in the next race our luck will change a bit and we can show again the Adri we know.”
