Another difficult day for Vazquez, Martin and Moreno at Assen

 In Moto3, News

After the team had to change the riders’ engines due to mechanical problems yesterday, the bad luck returned to plague the JHK T-Shirt LaGlisse team. In the morning Efrén Vázquez again had problems with the engine and although the team solved the issue as quick as possible, the rider from Rekalde lost a lot of time in the box and couldn’t work on the setup of his bike. In the afternoon the bike went better, but a heavy crash in the chicane cut his progression short. Although he was later able to get back out to try and improve his laptimes it wasn’t possible and tomorrow he’ll start only from the eighth row on the grid.

One row in front of him will be his teammate Adrián Martín in 21st position. Both hope to make up many positions in the race and get the best result possible for the team.

Iván Moreno continued his progression and improved his laptimes considerably in every session. The Andalusian rider is happy so far with his first visit to Assen.

#26 Adrián Martín 21º 1’45”254 “A little better than this morning and it’s not like I’m very happy, but little by little things are getting better. I’m 21st, but the positive thing is that I’m less than a second from seventh position. Tomorrow will be a race in groups and I don’t do badly in that, because I think when I fight in a group I’m pretty aggressive and I can make up many positions. Let’s see how the race goes and I hope the bike holds up, we can enjoy the race and finish in the points. The team deserves that for all the work they did.”

#7 Efrén Vázquez – 24º 1’45”420 “We had two sessions in which we did virtually nothing and I don’t believe miracles exist. Without the pace or the right setup, there’s no point in going out and just doing things for nothing, because there can be setbacks like this and sometimes you pay a high price for mistakes. I wanted to go beyond what the kilometres I did on this track allowed me and I crashed. Fortunately nothing happened to me. Now I have to rest and reflect on everything that’s happened and tomorrow I only want to go out and see how far we can go.”

#21 Iván Moreno 25º 1’45”596 “I’m very happy, not for the position, but because from one session to the next I went from doing 47’0 laps to 45’5 which is not bad. I think from Thursday to today we found many points to improve, not just on the track, but also on the bike. In every session we improved a lot and after changing the setting a little I could ride comfortably in the low 1’46s on my own and this is very positive. We’re a little behind, but tomorrow I have Efren and Adrian right in front of me who know the circuit and can help me to move up further.”
