Rosell saving strength for race after crash on Friday

 In Moto2, News

Elena Rosell felt the after-effects of her practice crash on day one today. With stiff and aching muscles, she made the sensible plan to push for a strong lap time early on in the qualifying session, to take things a little easier later on and save her strength for the race on Sunday.

Elena Rosell – 33rd in 1.57,081
“We planned to chase a fast lap time on the first laps of the qualifying session, because in free practice this morning, I didn’t feel very good. After my crash yesterday, my muscles were stiff and aching. I felt very tired and it was obvious that I wouldn’t be in the condition to push hard for a whole string of laps. I went out this afternoon without really knowing how the motorcycle would perform but it was quite good. I tried to go fast and missed a lap in the 1.56’s by only a fraction. After that, we tried something on the bike because we still have lots of problems and lots of things to sort out. But I also have to admit that I didn’t have enough strength today to push harder for an even faster lap time, as the direction changes on this circuit are really tough. I hope I will be able to stay with the guy in front of me during the race, because he seemed to have a similar rhythm!”
